Veteran Stand down for health and employment on #GivingTuesday – Seasonal employment opportunity

On the morning of Wednesday, November 28, at 8:30 AM Veterans On the Rise is hosting a Veteran Employment and Heath Stand Down event at our Head Quarters in Washington, DC.  We invite veterans wanting to work four to five, 8-hour days (daytime hours) to please reach out to Veterans On the Rise to participate. There are currently 15 open positions.  Reach us at info@vetsontherise.org or 202-388-4090. Happy Veterans Day! This event is brought to us by the Coalition to Salute Americas Heros, generous donations from the Red Cross, Easter Seals, and donors like you.  A special thanks to a kind and generous team of consultants from Deloitte Consulting who arrived at 6:00 AM to prepare a yummy breakfast for the veterans participating in the Stand Down. The power of collaboration!

Stay tuned for more VOTR November surprises!

On Sunday, April 2, Melanie Avery, Director of Public Affairs and sometimes chief everything officer ran the Cheery Blossom 10-miler on behalf of Veterans On the Rise! Her second time running the race, it was a great day for a run in that there was mild weather and virtually no wind.  Melanie also ran this race as a precursor to May which is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. Veterans On the Rise hopes you will join the organization for upcoming volunteer, physical activity, and fundraising efforts.
